Clastics
The Dawn of Clastics
I call the artwork I do Clastics, a term geologists use for a kind of rock mixed from weathered bits of any primary kind of rock type — maybe a grain, maybe as big as a house. The essence of clastic rock is impurity. Random disorder and glue. What the glue is as random as the solids fixed in it.
When I impose artistic order on my unlike materials (when I get upitty strangers interested in relaxing), that’s my magic glue. My artwork is my rocks.
Bushels of diamonds without some coal for contrast lacks a needed pilot light for me.
